POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River is one of the top four teams in the nation for the first time in program history.
When the NJCAA's latest Top 25 was released Monday afternoon, the Wildcats (5-0) appeared at No. 4.
Pearl River went 2-0 on the week, routing Baton Rouge and LSU-Eunice in the Wildcat Classic; five teams previously in the Top 10 all tumbled down the national rankings.
The ranking is PRCC's highest ranking since checking in at No. 5 during Week 5 of the 2010-11 season.
The reigning Region XXIII Champs appeared at No. 11 in this year's preseason rankings and spent the first two weeks of the season at No. 10.
The latest ranking marks 18 straight polls where the Wildcats have been in the Top 25, dating back to the 2018-19 preseason ranking. The current run is also a program best.
NEXT UP
PRCC is scheduled to close out the East Central Classic at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Wildcats won't return to the hardwood until Dec. 9 when they travel to Wesson to face Copiah-Lincoln in their MACJC opener.
