No. 12 Pearl River's Brinson Anne Rogers named MACCC's top pitcher

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After an unbelievable performance last week against No. 15 Pensacola State, Pearl River softball's Brinson Anne Rogers (Statesboro, Ga.) has been named MACCC Pitcher of the Week.

The Louisiana-Lafayette transfer was electric a week ago, powering the 12th ranked Wildcats past Pirates. Rogers once again set a season-high, striking out a remarkable 19 batters in her complete-game effort. She allowed just one hit and one run in the contest.

The 19-strikeout game is the most by an NJCAA DII player this season. On the national leaderboard for strikeouts in a game, Rogers holds three spots within the top five, holding games of 19, 17 and 16 strikeouts.

The right-hander currently holds a 5-2 record and a 1.51 earned run average across 51 innings pitched. She has tallied 104 strikeouts which ranks her second in the NJCAA. Her 14.27 strikeouts per seven innings are first among those with at least five appearances.
