POPLARVILLE, Miss.— Pearl River's women's soccer team is off to an undefeated start under new head coach Henrik Madsen. Freshman goalkeeper Paige Horsnell (London, England) is a big reason why the Wildcats sit atop the MACJC South standings at 5-0-1 overall and 4-0 in the division.
On Tuesday, the newcomer was named MACJC Goalkeeper of the Week. The award comes on the heels of a 2-0 week with a 9-1 home win over Southwest and a 2-1 double-overtime victory at Jones College.
Horsnell made six saves in 195 minutes between the pipes to improve to 5-0-1 on the year.
In six contests, Horsnell has allowed just five goals on 14 shots, good enough for a 0.81 goals against average. Horsnell's GAA ranks 32ndnationally.
