    POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The No. 2 Pearl River baseball team’s Region 23 Tournament appearance came to a close Thursday night. The Wildcats took down Meridian 10-1 in seven innings before falling 10-0 to LSU Eunice in six innings in the nightcap.

    POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The No. 2 Pearl River baseball team made its final tune-up game before the Region 23 Tournament memorable Monday afternoon.  Not only did the Wildcats take down North Arkansas 11-4 to set a new program record for wins in a season with 47, but first baseman Hollis Porter (Hurley; East Central) broke the single-season home run record with his 20th blast of the year.

    POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Needing a victory in its season finale against Northwest, the No. 4 Pearl River’s possibility of winning the MACCC Championship rested on the shoulders of freshman starting pitcher Caleb Dyess (Carriere; Pearl River Central). The right-hander toed the rubber, dug in and fired off a complete-game effort, allowing just one run to help the Wildcats take down Northwest 7-1 and win their third MACCC title in the last four seasons.

    POPLARVILLE, Miss. — A two-decade-old, seemingly unbreakable record was shattered Saturday evening, as the No. 4 Pearl River baseball team surpassed the 2004 team's consecutive victories record by picking up wins 28 and 29 in a row. PRCC took down Coahoma 13-2 in game one and snatched game two 12-3. The Wildcats are now 22-0 in MACCC play and have at least a three-game lead on its MACCC foes for first place.

    PERKINSTON, Miss. — Rivalry night couldn't have gotten much sweeter for the No. 4 Pearl River baseball team Tuesday evening. In addition to picking up the sweep with a 13-3 game one victory and a 13-1 game two win, Pearl River tied the program record set in 2004 for consecutive wins with a staggering 27. The icing on the cake was that game two victory was head coach Michael Avalon's 400th of his career.

    POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Fans of starting pitching were in for a treat Tuesday afternoon inside Dub Herring Park as No. 5 Pearl River’s starters were an electric factory against Hinds. The Wildcats took game one 9-2 and earned a 6-1 victory in game two for the sweep. Thomas Crabtree (Collierville, Tenn.) carried a perfect game into the eighth inning in game one, and JP Robertson (Madison; Germantown) allowed one run over six innings in game two.
