Pearl River basketball standouts named Forrest Health Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River basketball standouts Tae Hardy (Ellenwood, Ga.; Believe Prep) and Mychala "Pooh" Linzy (Clinton) have been named Forrest Health Wildcats of the Week.

Both Linzy and Hardy are two-time recipients of the honor this year.

MYCHALA LINZY

Linzy is coming off of her biggest performance of the season, scoring a team-high 19 points in the Wildcats' 93-80 victory over DME Academy in the Northwest Florida State College tournament.

Linzy has been one of the most consistent Wildcats (5-3 overall) for coach Scotty Fletcher, averaging 13.5 points per game. Linzy has scored in double-figures in all but two of PRCC's games this year.

TAE HARDY

Like Linzy, Hardy has been Mr. Reliable for No. 3 Pearl River (8-0). The East Carolina transfer had a huge game in No. 3 Pearl River's 102-59 victory at Copiah-Lincoln. The East Carolina transfer scored 28 points with six assists, five steals and three rebounds in the Wildcats' MACJC opener.

Hardy's 19.6 scoring clip for the undefeated Wildcats (8-0, 1-0) ranks 35th nationally and fourth in the MACJC. Hardy is also averaging 4.0 steals and 3.9 assists.

NEXT UP

The Wildcats return to the hardwood Jan. 7 with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at Delgado. PRCC returns to Marvin R. White Coliseum on Jan. 9 for a doubleheader against East Central. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.
