POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River ace Hannah Embry (Vicksburg; Porter's Chapel Academy) and men's soccer's Alex Emery (Gulfport; West Harrison) have been named Forrest General Wildcats of the Week.

Embry had a big week in the circle for the newly ranked Wildcats. In addition to striking out a career-high 11 in a 4-3 victory over Meridian, Embry also held then-No. 2 Itawamaba to four runs (two earned) in a 6-4 victory at Wildcat Stadium. Embry also struck out four in the victory over ICC.

Embry has been remarkable for Pearl River this season, boasting a 12-3 record with 106 strikeouts. She also has a 3.33 ERA. Monday's honor marks the second time Embry has been named a Wildcat of the Week.

Emery also had a strong week for the men's soccer team. The defender scored two set piece goals last week to help the Wildcats topple Itawamba 4-0. Emery also played strong defensively to help teammate John Bowman (Bay St. Louis; Bay) earn the shutout.
