POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Following incredible performances over the weekend for the Pearl River soccer programs, Frederikke Nielsen (Spentrup, Denmark; Randers Statsskole) and Christopher Dommer (Copenhagen, Denmark; Øregård Gymnasium) have been named the first Wildcats of the Week for the 2023-24 athletic year.

FREDERIKKE NIELSEN
Nielsen made the most of her first two games in the maroon and gold, finishing with four goals and three assists across games against Cossatot and National Park. In Pearl River's massive 16-0 victory over the Colts, Nielsen earned a hat trick. She followed the incredible performance up with an equally impressive game the following day. The freshman racked up three assists and one goal in a 10-0 win at National Park.

CHRISTOPHER DOMMER
Dommer picked up right where he left off last season in PRCC's first two games of the 2023 season. Dommer scored just four minutes into the game against Cossatot and then added another goal in the 60th minute to help lead the Wildcats to a 7-0 victory. Although the Wildcats fell 3-2 against National Park, Dommer helped aid Pearl River's comeback attempt with a goal on the volley.

The Pearl River men return to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. match at Mississippi College. Pearl River's women head to Perkinston on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a non-conference matchup against rival Gulf Coast. The game will be livestreamed at MGCCCBulldogs.com/watch.
