POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River has announced its Wildcats of the Week and volleyball's Sammie Smith (Biloxi; D'Iberville) and men's soccer's Barrett Breazeale (Hattiesburg; Sumrall) have earned the selections.

SAMMIE SMITH
Smith was on a tear in a perfect 3-0 week for the Pearl River volleyball team. Pearl River took on Coastal Alabama South to begin the week and Smith tallied four kills, two aces and a block assist. She followed that up with an unreal match against Gadsden State where she racked up 19 kills, 11 digs and one block. Smith featured at middle blocker in PRCC's final match of the week against Mississippi University for Women and continued to succeed. She tallied 11 kills, five aces and one block.

She wrapped up the week with 34 kills, 24 digs, seven aces and five assists. On the year, Smith has collected 53 kills, 46 digs, eight aces, seven assists and three blocks.

BARRETT BREAZEALE
The Pearl River men's soccer team played two exhibitions on the week against four-year programs Mississippi College and Spring Hill. Breazeale collected a goal in each of the matches to keep PRCC within striking distance.

UP NEXT
Volleyball hits the road Tuesday for a 6 p.m. matchup at Belhaven. Men's soccer travels to Hinds on Wednesday evening for a 5 p.m. match.
