Celine Grothe, Tyree Jackson named Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River women's soccer's Celine Grothe (Lübeck, Germany; Carl-Jacob-Burkhard) and football's Tyree Jackson (Hattiesburg; Oak Grove) have been named Wildcats of the Week.

CELINE GROTHE
Grothe was lights-out in Pearl River's 1-0 rivalry match victory over Gulf Coast. She turned away three shots in the match to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard and earn the clean sheet. 

So far this season, Grothe has racked up 23 saves and allowed just four goals for a goals-against average of 0.89. She's earned clean sheets in two matches this season.

TYREE JACKSON
Jackson was all over the field on defense for the Wildcats last week against Northeast. In the game, the edge rusher finished with six tackles, three tackles-for-loss and half of a sack.

Heading into week three, Jackson is second on the Wildcats in tackles with 14.

Pearl River women's soccer returns to action Tuesday for a road match at East Mississippi. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m. and will be livestreamed at EMCCLive.com.
