Ian González, Avery Wheat named ForrestHealth Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River football's Ian González (Mexico City, Mexico; St. Stanislaus) and Avery Wheat (Gonzales, La.; East Ascension) have been named ForrestHealth Wildcats of the Week for their standout performances.

IAN GONZALEZ
González came into the game in the third quarter and exploded for 165 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, providing a second half spark for Pearl River. Although the Wildcats went on to fall in the game 35-20, González kept them in it throughout. 

AVERY WHEAT
Wheat delivered a dominant performance with 21 kills, 11 digs, two blocks and two service aces, showcasing her skills on both offense and defense. Through 15 games Wheat has amassed 210 kills, 128 digs and 19 service aces proving to be a steady contributor for the Wildcats.  

UP NEXT 
The football team will host East Central at 7 p.m. Thursday, while the volleyball team will host East Central on Monday before travelling to Itawamba on Wednesday.
