Forrest Ball was a defensive tackle on the 1953 and 1954 Wildcat teams. The '53 Wildcats put together a 9-0-1 mark while scoring 294 points and allowing only 41. Fall and the other members of the Wildcat defensive bunch shutout a record six opponents. In one stretch, the Wildcats did not allow a point in four consecutive games.
Ball, a 1952 graduate of Columbia High School, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He returned to the Marion County area to teach and coach for 15 years, spending 10 years at West Marion and five years at Columbia Academy.
