J.E. Loiacano

Bay St. Louis' J.E. Loiacano was an All-American running back on the 1961 National Championship Wildcat team which scored 446 points. Loiacano went on to star at linebacker for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

He played in the East-West All-Star Game, the Blue-Gray Game and played professional football for the Canto and Philadelphia Bulldogs in the Continental Football League.

He served as head coach at Bay High School and Gulfport High and was an assistant coach at Mississippi State. At the time of his 1991 induction, Loiacano, who has a master's degree from William Carey College, had a 69-24-1 coaching record and one state title to his credit. Loiacano also won several AAU weightlifting events, and is an author and guest lecturer on strength training.

Since 1980 he was the owner of Loiacano's Health Club in Bay St. Louis. 

J.E. is married to the former Courtney Cowand and they have three children.
