Randall "Bob-A-Lou" Collette

Randall "Bob-A-Lou" Collette, the Wildcat's single game rushing leader until 1989, began playing football at Cecilia High School in Louisiana. A native of Arnaudville, Louisiana, Collette received parish and district honors in football, baseball and track and received an honorable mention All-State in football. Collette joined the Wildcat team in the fall of 1980 under Coach J.C. Arban.

Voted his team's most valuable offensive player both years, Collette helped lead the Wildcats to a 6-4 ledger in 1980, a South Division title, and runner-up state spot in 1981 with an 8-3-1 record. Collette rushed for 224 yards against Southwest in the 1980 homecoming game becoming the first Wildcat player in history to amass more than 200 yards in one game. His accomplishment that afternoon remained the second-best single-game effort in school history at the time of his 1997 induction; only Michael Toefield's 264 yards against Coahoma in 1989 was better at the time. Averaging almost five yards per carry, Collette's 1,250 career yards ranked fifth on the all-time list. He was named to the All-State and All-Star teams after the 1981 season.

Collette received a scholarship to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, but he injured a knee in spring practice which ended his football career.

Collette married Lisa Herbert and returned home to Henderson to manage a Mr. Cook's Restaurant for two years before becoming regional vice-president for Primerica Financial Corporation in 1985. He joined United Companies Financial Service Corporation in 1988 and Ford Motor Credit in April, 1991. Collette was a credit analyst, supervisor at the Customer Service Center in Omaha, Nebraska before becoming dealer account Manager.

The nickname "Bob-A-Lou" was given to Collette by his mom and dad when he was a toddler. His parent met dancing to a song with the words in it.
