Kyle Lindsey, a righthander who prepped at Purvis High, was instrumental in the Wildcats’ second-place finishes in the MACJC and Region 23 tournaments. He played for coach Jamie McMahon.

His sophomore season, he posted a team-best 11-1 record during the 2008 season while striking out 106 batters in 97 ⅓ innings on the mound. He was named first team NJCAA All-American and Region XXIII Pitcher of the Year.

Besides his All-American accolades, Lindsey was also the NJCAA National Division II strikeout leader his sophomore season. During his career at Pearl River, Lindsey set a career record for wins (19) and ranks second in single-season strikeouts (106).

“Playing at Pearl River was the two best years of my life,” he said. “The lifelong friends I have met and the guys I still have relationships with today. We had a lot of local guys on the baseball team and we came together as a team. My time there was really enjoyable.”

Lindsey went on to get his B.S. and Master’s at the University of Southern Mississippi and served as an assistant baseball coach at PRCC for six years.
