Pearl River’s Jariyon Wilkens does it all, earns MACCC honor

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Jariyon Wilkens did a little bit of everything in then-No. 10 Pearl River's 79-74 win over East Central. For his contributions to the Wildcats' effort, Wilkens has been named the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference Player of the Week.

In the five-point win, Wilkens scored a team-high 20 points. He also pulled in a game-high 11 rebounds.

Wilkens' 11 rebounds set a new career high, while his 20 points tied a personal best from the previous game.

The double-double was Wilkens' second of the season.

Wilkens has been a big reason the Wildcats boast a 6-1 overall record, averaging 15.1 points per game. He's also averaging 7.6 rebounds per contest.

Wilkens is the second Wildcat to receive the honor this season, joining Cameron Brown (Hattiesburg), who was named MACCC Player of the Week on Feb. 9.

By being named MACCC Player of the week, Wilkens is automatically nominated for the NJCAA weekly honor.
