No. 10 Pearl River falls at No. 1 Northwest Florida

NICEVILLE, Fla. — The No. 10 Pearl River men's basketball team gave No. 1 Northwest Florida its best shot Saturday but came up short, losing 79-63.

Although PRCC (2-1 overall) found itself in an 18-point deficit in the first half of play, the Wildcats battled back to trail 38-27 at the midway point. 

The offense picked up for each team in the second half, but Pearl River couldn't recover.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Jermahri Hill (Bessemer, Ala.; Berkmar) led PRCC in scoring with 17 points. He also had six rebounds and four assists. 

Carlous Williams (Hattiesburg; Harrison Central) turned in his second straight double-double, finishing with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. The sophomore added in a block and a steal.

Jakari Livingston (Pine Bluff, Ark.; Wilbur D. Mills) added in double-digit points with 10. 

Dylan Brumfield (Oak Grove) finished with nine rebounds from his point guard position.

Pearl River returns to action Tuesday for a home contest against Baton Rouge. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
