Pearl River basketball earns two All-MACCC selections

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After a successful 2022-23 campaign for the Pearl River men's basketball team, two Wildcat players have been named to the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference All-Conference teams. 

Carlous Williams (Hattiesburg; Harrison Central) was named first team while Jermahri Hill (Bessemer, Ala.; Berkmar) earned second team.

CARLOUS WILLIAMS
A Tulsa signee, Williams was a handful for opposing teams all season long. The sophomore forward averaged 16.5 points per game which tied for sixth-best in the MACCC. He also hauled in 6.7 rebounds per game which ranked 16th in the league. He added in 1.3 assists per game. 

Williams eclipsed the 20-point mark seven times during the season, but his best showing came in a game against Coahoma when he scored 25 points and pulled in eight rebounds. 

He finished with a double-double three times during the year and scored double-digit points in all but one of the 21 games he featured in.

JERMAHRI HILL
Hill was a standout freshman for the Wildcats, averaging 15.2 points per game for the year. That mark ranked 13th best in the MACCC. He also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Hill finished the season with 21 games with double-digit points. 

His top game in 2022-23 was against Northeast, scoring 28 points on 10-for-16 shooting. He also brought in seven rebounds and three assists in the contest.
