POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its All-MACCC teams Tuesday morning, and a trio of Pearl River men's basketball players earned selections.
Joah Chappelle (Atlanta, Ga.; Dutchtown) was named First Team and the conference's Freshman of the Year. Krystian Lewis (Monroe, La.; Wossman) took home Second Team honors and Kedrick Osby (Moss Point) snatched Honorable Mention.
JOAH CHAPPELLE
Chappelle's freshman season was nothing short of spectacular. Featuring in 30 games, Chappelle averaged 16.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks. He scored double-digit points in 26 games and had 20 or more in eight games. He also had six double-doubles. His best scoring game of the year came on the road against Mississippi Delta when he finished with 27.
KRYSTIAN LEWIS
Lewis had some signature moments for Pearl River throughout his freshman season to earn Second Team honors. He averaged 15.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds from his point guard position. He finished the year with 24 double-digit point games, including a season-high 28 in a home victory over Delgado.
KEDRICK OSBY
Osby earns Honorable Mention status after an incredible sophomore season at The River. Obsy transferred in and averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks. Osby shot a blazing 48 percent from the field and 81.9 percent from the free-throw line. He had 28 games of 10 or more points, including a season-high 36 at Bishop State and 33 in a Region 23 Semifinal victory over Itawamba.
