Pearl River golf struggles in Northeast Invitational

CORINTH, Miss. — The Pearl River golf team couldn't recover from a tough round one at the Northeast Invitational, finishing the tournament in ninth place. The Wildcats shot a 330 on day one before improving to 310 on day two.

LEADING THE WAY
Mississippi University for Women transfer Timothy Turnage (Picayune) led the way for the Wildcats as he tied for 16th place. The sophomore finished the first round with a 74 and followed it up with a 76 in the second round to finish 6-over. 

Despite a rough day one score of 85, Quentin Baker (Poplarville) turned in a solid day two performance, shooting a 75 to finish with a two-day total of 159.

Chandler Van (West Monroe, La) and Hunter Robinson (Purvis) tied for 43rd place after shooting a 166.

Carson Cunningham (Carriere; Pearl River Central) and Hunter Black (Carriere; Pearl River Central) rounded out the Wildcat golfers with scores of 169 and 175, respectively.
