Wildcats earn eighth in Pearl River Invitational

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. — The Pearl River gold team got to hold its own tournament for the first time since its rebirth on Monday and Tuesday. The Wildcats narrowly trailed third place after day one but finished the two-day tournament in the eighth position.

PRCC finished with a better score in round two than in the first round, but solid performances across the board from its competitors didn't give the Wildcats any room to move.

Sophomore Hunter Robinson (Purvis) led the PRCC effort by tying for 19th place with a score of 15-over.

Timothy Turnage (Picayune) finished 21-over to place him in a six-way tie for 28th place.

Chandler Van (West Monroe, La.) and Quentin Baker (Poplarville) each finished with a score of 25-over for 38th place.

Carson Cunningham (Carriere; Pearl River Central) and Noah Helton (Brooklyn; Forrest County) rounded out the Wildcat effort with scores of 28-over and 32-over, respectively.
