Pearl River golf wraps up fall competition

LAUREL, Miss. — The Pearl River golf team continued its fall season Monday and Tuesday at the Jones College Invitational. The Wildcats held on to 10th place after round one but dropped to 11th in the second round.

The Wildcats were consistent over their two days of competition, shooting 359 (+71) each day to earn a two-day total of 718 (+142).

The Wildcats' top performer was Cort Miley (Carriere; Pearl River Central). He shot an 82 in the first round and an 89 in the second round to finish tied for 36th place.

Sophomore Cole Ward (Laurel; Northeast Jones) finished in a tie for 45th place after a stroke total of 90 and 87 in each round. 

Brock Craft (Carriere; Pearl River Central) earned 54th place, finishing with a two-day total of 190. 

Eli Rawls (Picayune; Pearl River Central) and Gavin McClinton (Carriere; Pearl River Central) rounded out the Wildcat golfers, shooting 194 and 195, respectively.

The Wildcats return to the course on Feb. 5-6 for the Gulf Coast Invitational at Diamondhead Golf Club.
