Pearl River came up just short Saturday at Southwest, falling to the Bears 1-0.

With just over eight minutes remaining in the game, play was halted due to lightning and eventually the match was called due to weather.

The result marks just the second time this season the Wildcats (9-3, 4-2) have been shut out.

Bo Bowman (Bay St. Louis; Bay), Andrew Elkins (Bay St. Louis; St. Stanislaus) and Daminik White (Kingston, Jamaica) all had shots on goal for PRCC. Kobe Lie (Hattiesburg; North Forrest) made 12 saves in the match.

Marcus Connolly scored the game's lone goal in the 71st minute.

PRCC returns to action Tuesday with a road matchup at Meridian before closing out the home portion of the regular season schedule Friday against Jones College.
