Ian Graham's hat trick pushes Pearl River men past Holmes

RIDGELAND, Miss. — The goals came early and often for the Pearl River men's soccer team Friday afternoon as the Wildcats rattled off an impressive 6-0 victory over Holmes.

"We played well, and the finishing finally came along," head coach Drew Gallant said. "We were able to get everybody minutes, and I was really proud of that. We created a lot of chances again today. That was good to see."

MATCH RECAP

The first Pearl River (3-4-2 overall; 2-1-2 MACCC) goal of the match came just six minutes in as Noah Fazal (Vaerloese, Denmark; Gladsaxe Gymnasium) played a great through ball to Ian Graham (Meridian; Biloxi) who promptly tapped it past the Holmes (3-6; 0-5) goalkeeper.

Kristoff Graham (Clarendon, Jamaica; Clarendon College) grabbed his first goal as a Wildcat in the 16th minute. Jason Irias (D'Iberville) dribbled out wide and passed the ball back to Graham. Graham quickly slotted the shot into the back of the net to increase the advantage, 2-0.

PRCC's third goal came in the 48th minute with the help of Irias once again. The winger beat the defender out wide and sent a pass across to Graham. The freshman pushed it into the goal to snag his brace, 3-0.

Graham made it a hat trick in the 50th minute. With a defender in his face, Graham made a quick turn at the top of the box and sent a laser over the goalkeeper for the goal, 4-0.

The 55th minute saw Aden Smith (Biloxi) join in on the scoring party. Pearl River earned a corner kick and sent Gio Cruz (Moselle; South Jones) to take it. The ball played in bounced around for a bit before Smith got a foot on it and sent it past the HCC keeper, 5-0.

Fazal got on the scoresheet in the 70th minute with the help of his fellow countryman. Christopher Dommer (Copenhagen, Denmark; Øregård Gymnasium) sent an incredible through ball from the middle of the pitch to the sprinting Fazal. The freshman dribbled a few steps into the box and slid a shot past the keeper, 6-0.
