No. 6 PRCC's Tiago Honorio Jr. earns third MACCC Player of the Week award

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After a record-setting week for the No. 6 Pearl River men's soccer team, Tiago Honorio Jr. (São Paulo, Brazil) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference's Player of the Week. The selection makes three on the season for the 6-foot-4 forward.

Honorio Jr. wins the award after putting together the most impressive game in Pearl River soccer history. In Pearl River's 10-1 bashing of East Mississippi, Honorio Jr. passed head coach Drew Gallant (2003) and John Briscoe (2002) for goals in a match by scoring an incredible six goals. What was most impressive about the feat was that he did all of his damage in just 21 minutes. He had a hat trick 11 minutes into the night.

While he did not score against Gulf Coast, the forward was instrumental in creating PRCC's 88th-minute equalizer, heading a ball down to a nearby player for a shot attempt.

Honorio Jr. leads the MACCC and is third in the NJCAA in goals scored, with an incredible 22 on the year. He has also racked up five assists throughout the year.
