Pearl River's Honorio Jr. becomes two-time NJCAA All-America selection

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its DII Men's Soccer All-America teams Tuesday morning, and Pearl River men's soccer's Tiago Honorio Jr. (São Paulo, Brazil) was named First Team.

The selection makes the sophomore the first two-time NJCAA All-America selection in Pearl River men's soccer history after taking home Third Team honors a season ago.

"Whoever comes in has big shoes to fill. It's not just the on-field stuff. He's been a leader off the field, too. He's made sure our guys were headed in the right direction at all times," head coach Drew Gallant said. "It's an incredible honor that he earned. He played through injury last season and then came back this year and put up incredible numbers. It's a well-deserved award."

Honorio Jr. leaves Pearl River as one of the best players in the program's rich history. During the 2024 season alone, he broke the single-season goal-scoring record with 30 goals and the single-match record with six goals. He tacked on an incredible 10 assists as well.

He has already been named First Team All-MACCC, All-Region and MACCC Player of the Year.

In the last two years at The River, Honorio Jr. racked up 42 career goals to tie the program record along with Michael Allizzo. He finishes with 17 assists in his career.
