Pearl River hits rough patch at Southern Arkansas

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Pearl River rodeo team will look to bounce back after struggling at the Southern Arkansas Rodeo. The men's team plaved sixth and the women's team finished seventh.

Morgan Meekins (Townsend, Del.; Middletown) finished tied for third place after the first round of breakaway roping, but was unable to register a time in the second round.

Sarah Booty (Osyka; Amite County) had a great first round in goat tying before registering no time in the second round.

The best performance of the weekend came from Kason Davis (Poplarville) who finished in fourth place in team roping. Koby Sanchez (Ethel, La.) and Bryce Graves (Poplarville) placed fifth in team roping with a 17.4 average.

Mason Theriot (Poplarville) registered a time of 8.1 after the first round of team roping, but did not register a time in the second round.
