Pearl River rodeo shines at UT-Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. — The Pearl River rodeo team turned it one of its best performances of the season last week at the UT-Martin rodeo. The women's team took home a second-place finish while the men's team finished tied for fourth.

 Ashley Henderson (Pensacola, Fla.; J.M. Tate) registered times of 2.1 and 2.9 seconds in breakaway roping to take home first place.

Sarah Bootyy (Osyka; Amite County) continued her hot stretch in goat tying, bringing in a third-place finish with times of 7.2 and 6.8 seconds. Morgan Meekins (Townsend, Del.; Middletown) was tied for second after her first run but was unable to register a second time.

In calf roping, Kason Davis (Poplarville) and his teammate finished the rodeo in second place after registering a 7.5 in round one and a 5.6 in round two. Mason Theriot (Poplarville) teamed up with former Pearl River rodeo standout Chase Graves (Poplarville) and the pair took home third place. Jeb Stewart (Lucedale) and Blake Lyons (Ethel, La.) grabbed fourth place.
