Pearl River shows some rust at Southern Arkansas rodeo

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The Pearl River rodeo team got back in action for the first time in nearly a month last weekend at the Southern Arkansas rodeo. The Wildcats had to knock off some rust as the women's team grabbed sixth and the men's team took seventh. 

Sydney Poole (Robertsdale, Ala.) earned a first round time of 2.9 in breakaway roping but was hurt by a 12.8 in the second round, placing her in seventh place.

Poole also competed in barrel racing and earned a sixth place finish with a ride of 16.69 in the first round followed by a 16.76 second round ride. 

Bryson Crawford (Labelle, Fla.) registered a first-round time of 13.7 and a second-round time of 19.9 in calf roping to finish in seventh place. 

Evan Bourdon (Sheridan, Ind.) was fourth in average after times of 5.1 and 8.5 in steer wrestling. He managed to take home 80 points for his showing.

Trevor Delee (St. Francisville, La.) and Jake White collected a 9.3 in their first round of team roping but were unable to register a time in the second. 

Trent Davis (Poplarville) and Preston Fox of Three Rivers College were sitting in fifth place after a time of 8.1 in the first round but earned a 15.5 in the second to push them into fifth place. They were awarded 80 points.
