POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Sydney Lewis (Upper Marlboro, Md.; McLean School) was dominant in No. 11 Pearl River women's basketball's lone game of the week against Gadsden State and has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week for her efforts.
Lewis was a huge reason that the Wildcats improved to a perfect 8-0 on the year, racking up an incredible 19 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double. She added three steals and three blocks in the contest to help PRCC defeat Gadsden State 66-44.
The sophomore post player is averaging a double-double this season with marks of 10.3 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. She's also averaging 1.5 blocks per game and 1.9 steals per game.
