Pearl River's Jazmine Jackson earns All-America selection

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its All-America teams Wednesday afternoon, and Pearl River women's basketball's Jazmine Jackson (Jacksonville, Fla.; Andrew Jackson) was named to the Honorable Mention team. The guard was previously named First Team All-MACCC and All-Region 23.

Jackson's selection makes back-to-back years with an All-America selection for Pearl River and grows the list of all-time selections to 12 for the women's basketball program. Jackson joins Antrice McGill (First Team | 1989), Charzes Silas (First Team | 1990), Elaine Powell (First Team | 1994; First Team | 1995), Datishella Byrd (Honorable Mention | 1997; Second Team | 1998), Jessica Shanklin (Honorable Mention | 1999), Norma Noel (First Team | 1999), Audosha Kelley (Third Team | 2003), Carmen Labat (Honorable Mention | 2005) and Taylor Johnson-Matthews (Second Team | 2024).

Jackson had an incredible year in her lone season in the maroon and gold, getting it done across the board. The guard was near the top in every statistical category for Pearl River, finishing first in points per game (12.9), second in rebounds per game (5.5), second in steals per game (1.5) and third in assists per game (1.9). Jackson finished the year with 19 double-digit games and three games of at least 20 points. Her best game of the season came in a neutral site contest against Three Rivers as she scored a season-high 29 points, hauled in seven rebounds and picked up a pair of assists.

Jackson's incredible numbers helped Pearl River secure back-to-back MACCC Championships for the first time in program history, and the Wildcats finished with an impressive 25-3 record. PRCC's three losses were the fewest in a season in the program's history.
