Pearl River's Govan-Williams adds proven leader to staff

PRCC Assistant WBB Coach Quinton Pippen

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River head women's basketball coach Shanae Govan-Williams did not go far to find her assistant for the 2025-2026 season. Govan-Williams named former Coahoma assistant coach Quinton Pippen to her staff. Pippen spent the past two seasons on Govan-Williams' staff at Coahoma.

"We have always spoken about coaching together. He did a great job at Coahoma with bringing a sense of urgency with building our young women up as it relates to skills and development," Head Coach Shanae Govan-Williams said. "He did a great job in our individual workouts, and we saw our student-athletes grow tremendously in their games. With him being a JUCO All-American, we thought he would be able to relate to the student-athletes."

Pippen's primary roles will be skills and development with the players and scouting.

COACHING CAREER
Known for his player development and mentorship, Pippen's time at Coahoma exemplified these traits. The Tigers won 40 games in two seasons for the first time in program history. Multiple players were recognized as All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference, and Coahoma had three players score over 500 points in their career.

Prior to Coahoma, Pippen was the women's basketball skill development coach at the University of Central Arkansas, where he led player development sessions and provided individualized training.

Pippen founded No Days Off in 2016 and serves as their lead trainer. No Days Off trains players from youth to professional levels, focusing on shooting, ball-handling, defense, agility and mental toughness. He has trained players who have competed at all levels from JUCO all the way to the NBA. He has also served as the head coach of the U15 Arkansas Kings AAU since 2016.

Pippen also created a mentorship program that develops life skills and character-building while using basketball as a platform, helping participants achieve academic and personal success.

PLAYING CAREER
Pippen had a standout career at Chicago State University. He was a two-time All-Conference performer and was named the 2013 Great West Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Prior to attending Chicago State, Pippen was an All-American at Missouri State University-West Plains. He left Missouri State as the school's all-time 3-point leader. In addition to being named All-American, he was named All-Conference twice. After leaving Missouri State, Pippen was inducted into the Missouri State West Plains Hall of Fame and had his jersey retired in 2016.

EDUCATION
Pippen received a Bachelor of Psychology from Chicago State University in 2014 and an Associate in Arts from Missouri State University – West Plains in 2011.
