The River announced in February it had hired Danny Manley as an assistant golf coach for its women's program. Shirlene Manley also joins the staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

"They are all about teaching and instructing. He is very knowledgeable about the game, very golf savvy," Pearl River head golf coach Coby Scarborough said. "They want to make sure we do things the right way and put PRCC golf on the map."

Shirlene Manley looks to tap into over 30 years of experience as an educator and golfer to help grow the Wildcat golfers as both athletes and young people about to enter the world.

"What excites me is working with younger people," she said. "If you can do anything to encourage young people in their college and athletics career, it is a good thing."
