No. 10 PRCC's Celine Grothe tabbed MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its weekly awards on Tuesday, and No. 10 PRCC's Celine Grothe (Lubeck, Germany; Carl-Jacob-Burkhardt) was named the Goalkeeper of the Week.

Grothe is the second Pearl River women's soccer player to be selected this season, as Frederikke Nielsen (Spentrup, Denmark; Randers Statsskole) was named Player of the Week after week one.

The Wildcats only had one match last week, and Grothe made the most of it. In the 1-0 victory over Southwest, Grothe turned away seven Bear shots to earn a clean sheet and keep Pearl River undefeated.

So far in 2023, Grothe has made 16 saves and allowed only two goals, picking up a pair of wins.
