Pearl River splits final day of MUW tournament

COLUMBUS, Miss. — Pearl River's volleyball split its doubleheader on Day 2 of the Mississippi University for Women tournament on Saturday.

The Wildcats (3-2 overall) swept the Owls' junior varsity squad 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-20). Pearl River then fell to NJCAA power Wallace State-Hanceville 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-7).

"Overall, I am pleased with our play at the MUW Owls Invitational. We were able to walk away with two good wins and finished the tournament getting to play the No. 1 Alabama JUCO team in Wallace State Hanceville," coach Haley Chatham said. "There is much to be gained/learned when facing the kind of competition Wallace brings; we will learn from our loss and get better."

The split comes one day after PRCC swept Judson College 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-19) on the opening day of the tournament.
