MOBILE, Ala. — The Pearl River volleyball team took the opening two sets on the road against Bishop State but couldn't hold on as BSCC fought back to win the final three and the match, 3-2 (25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 22-25, 11-15)
Pearl River (5-14 overall) came out of the gate hot against Bishop State (4-8), building out a quick four-point, 7-3 advantage. After BSCC cut PRCC's lead to 10-8, the Wildcats went on an impressive run in the middle portion of the set to extend their lead to 17-12. Pearl River went on to win the opening set 25-19.
The momentum carried over for Pearl River in set two. The Wildcats picked up eight of the first nine points to go up 8-1. The lead grew to as much as nine points at 16-7 before PRCC closed it out with a 25-17 victory.
Bishop State had to fend off defeat in the set three and did just that, winning it 25-17 to keep the match going. Pearl River kept within striking distance throughout the fourth set before BSCC put it to rest 25-22.
The fifth and final set was more of the same between Pearl River and Bishop State. PRCC fought throughout, but BSCC secured the set, 15-11.

The Wildcats travel to Brewton, Ala. tomorrow to take on Bevill State and Coastal Alabama North. The matches will be at 1/3 p.m.
