POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its Players of the Week Tuesday morning and Pearl River volleyball's Sophie Warren (Brandon) has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
With the award, Pearl River has swept the weekly awards as Morgan Mears (Hurley; East Central) was named Offensive Player of the Week.
Warren wins the award after an incredible week for the Wildcats, helping lead the team to a 2-1 record. Across three matches, Warren tallied a team-high 57 digs. She also had 35 service receptions and made just two receiving errors. On the road at Itawamba, Warren had an incredible 25 digs. Offensively, she added 12 assists and two service aces.
Warren leads Pearl River in digs with 369 through 34 matches. She has added in 86 assists and leads the team in service aces with 86.
