POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Following a dominant week on the offensive side of the ball, Pearl River volleyball's Morgan Mears (Hurley; East Central) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Her selection earns Pearl River a clean sweep in the weekly awards as teammate Sophie Warren (Brandon) was named the MACCC Defensive Player of the Week.

In a 2-1 week for Pearl River, Mears tallied 29 kills and three service aces. In her 68 total attacks, she made just six attack errors. She also got it done defensively. The middle blocker had 10 digs and picked up five blocks.

Mears has had an impressive freshman campaign. She currently ranks third on the team in kills (245), fourth in service aces (23), fourth in digs (101) and first in blocks (85).
