POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After leading Pearl River football to its first victory over East Mississippi since 2008, quarterback Kabe Barnett (Hattiesburg; Oak Grove) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
PRCC has now taken home the award in back-to-back weeks. Last week, Ian González (Mexico City, Mexico; St. Stanislaus) earned the award.
Barnett earns the designation after a standout game for the Wildcats. The redshirt sophomore went 15-for-24 through the air for a completion percentage of 62.5. He racked up 236 passing yards and two touchdowns, one being the game-winner. Additionally, he rushed 16 times for 73 yards and a score.
The quarterback is 57-for-105 for 593 yards and four touchdowns through seven games. He has also rushed for 247 and two touchdowns on 62 attempts.
