Pearl River pitcher Hannah Embry honored by MACCC

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference has named Pearl River freshman Hannah Embry (Vicksburg; Porters Chapel Academy) the Pitcher of the Week. The honor comes after a breakout doubleheader from the right-hander.

In Pearl River's sweep over East Central, the freshman picked up two wins with a combined stat line of 11 1/3 innings pitched, five hits, three earned runs and 16 strikeouts.

Through 12 games this year for PRCC (11-3 overall; 4-0 MACCC), Embry is tied for first in the nation in wins with seven and is also ranked fourth nationally in strikeouts with 55 while having an ERA of 2.40.

By being named MACCC Pitcher of the week, Embry is automatically nominated for the NJCAA weekly honor.

Embry is the second Wildcat softball standout to be honored by the MACCC in as many weeks after McKall Holder (Hurley; East Central) was named the Player of the Week last week.
