Pearl River ace earns third MACCC Pitcher of the Week award

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — No. 7 Pearl River's Brinson Anne Rogers (Statesboro, Ga.) has done it again. One week after winning the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week award, the right-hander has been awarded the honor once again. She now has claimed the award three times this season.

In a game against rival No. 17 Gulf Coast, Rogers pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and two walks. She struck out 12 batters in the game. She then got the last two outs of the second game of the doubleheader, tallying one strikeout.

The Statesboro, Ga. Native only pitched two innings against East Mississippi but struck out three batters without allowing a hit or run.

Through 18 appearances, Rogers has an 11-2 record, one save and 84 2/3 innings pitched. Her ERA sits at 0.99, which is good enough for third in the NJCAA among those who have at least 10 appearances. She has also tallied 166 strikeouts this season, which ranks second in the NJCAA. Her 13.72 strikeouts per seven innings are the best in the NJCAA.
