No. 12 Pearl River's Brinson Anne Rogers honored by MACCC

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After a phenomenal week in the circle for the No. 12 Pearl River softball team, Brinson Anne Rogers (Statesboro, Ga.) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The right-hander was electric in her three appearances last week against Pensacola State, No. 6 Parkland and No. 19 Lansing. 

She began the week by pitching all 10 innings of a 2-1 victory on the road against Pensacola State. In the game, she struck out 15 batters against just one hit and one earned run. She took the ball against No. 6 Parkland later in the week and threw a seven-inning shutout with 15 strikeouts, allowing one hit. She entered the game in relief against No. 19 Lansing. She walked two batters and allowed two hits but struck out five.

For the week, she tallied 19 2/3 innings with 35 strikeouts, one earned run and four hits allowed.

So far this season, Rogers has thrown 54 2/3 innings allowing just six earned runs. She has struck out 94 batters and holds a 0.77 earned run.
