No. 9 Pearl River's Morgan Lavergne named MACCC Player of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — A day after being named Wildcat of the Week, Pearl River's Morgan Lavergne (Baton Rouge, La.; Central) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week.

Lavergne takes home the award after leading No. 9 PRCC to a perfect 4-0 week against East Central, Blinn and No. 12 LSU Eunice.
For the week, the freshman held a stellar .462 batting average, a .533 on-base percentage and a 1.231 slugging percentage. She finished with 10 RBIs, five runs scored, three homers and one double. She also walked twice.

Lavergne has been automatic from the leadoff spot this season, hitting .420 with a .494 on-base percentage and .720 slugging percentage. She leads the team in doubles (16), homers (7), runs (47) and hits (60).

UP NEXT
The Wildcats travel to Jones College on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. doubleheader. On Friday, Pearl River returns home to host Northwest at 12 p.m.
