No. 9 PRCC's Morgan Lavergne earns second MACCC Player of the Week award

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — No. 9 Pearl River will head into the Region 23 Tournament on a high note as freshman Morgan Lavergne (Baton Rouge, La.; Central) has been named the MACCC Player of the Week for a second time this season.

The Wildcats swept the weekly awards as Brinson Anne Rogers (Statesboro, Ga.) earned the conference's Pitcher of the Week.

Lavergne earns the award after holding a .500 batting average across a doubleheader against East Mississippi. In the series, she sent three homers out of the park, picked up six RBIs, scored three runs and walked once.

It's truly been a remarkable season for the shortstop. Heading into postseason play, Lavergne leads the Wildcats in batting average (.407), on-base percentage (.484), slugging percentage (.747), hits (66), runs (51), RBIs (44), doubles (16), homers (11) and triples (3).
