Pearl River dominates Coastal Alabama North

MONROEVILLE, Ala. — The Pearl River Wildcats went on the road Saturday afternoon and picked up their second straight win as they pounced on Coastal Alabama-North 93-61.

The Wildcats (9-4 overall, 2-2 MACJC) got off to a quick start against the Sun Chiefs (0-15) and went into halftime with a 46-29 lead.

The Wildcats carried same energy throughout the second half dominating Coastal Alabama and cruising to a 93-61 win.

"I thought yesterday we had a great gym session and we were itching to get better," Pearl River coach Scotty Fletcher said. "We looked at some rotations on our defense. We had our best film session of the year as well and we wanted to apply that to this game. We were also able to get a lot of live ball turnovers."

Mychala 'Pooh' Linzy (Clinton) led the way for the Wildcats with 16 points.

"I thought 'Pooh' got back to her scoring ways tonight," Fletcher said.

Shania Wright (Clinton) also had a big game with 14 points.

"Shania has grown so much as both a player and a person from year one to year two here," Fletcher said.
