Brandy Maulden, MS, ATC, PES-CPT is a Certified Athletic Trainer at Pearl River Community College. Upon completion of her B.S. from the University of South Alabama, she began her career at the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate assistant athletic trainer providing sports medicine coverage for the a local high school – Forrest County Agricultural High School. While working for Hattiesburg Clinic Sports Medicine for over 12 years covering the AGGIES, she enhanced her degree by becoming a National Academy of Sport Medicine Performance Enhancement Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer.

Maulden is responsible for the overall operation of the Pearl River Community College Athletics Department Sports Medicine Program. She and her staff are responsible for the daily care, treatment, and rehabilitation of approximately 200 student-athletes. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association.

Maulden splits her time between her sports medicine administrative duties and rendering medical care for all the Pearl River Community College student athletes. Additionally, Maulden is a course instructor for the Health, Physical, and Recreation Department. She teaches First Aid/CPR and Personal and Community Health online through the department of ELearning.

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Maulden has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since May 2000. She is a State of Mississippi licensed athletic trainer, an American Red Cross certified professional rescuer and certified Instructor. In her spare time, Maulden enjoys competing in triathlons and in May 2015 completed her first Ironman 70.3 competition in Chattanooga, TN. She is a member of USA Triathlon, Gulf Coast Bicycle Club and Ticking Tri Bombs Triathlon Club.

Brandy Maulden is married to Glynn Maulden and they have two boys – Dyllon and Brennon. Brandy is a member of Northwood Christian Church and serves in the children’s ministry. In her spare time, Maulden enjoys spending time with her family and English bulldog – Diesel.

Cody Shaw is entering his seventh year as an athletic trainer at Pearl River Community College. 

Shaw oversees the athletic training and development for PRCC athletics. 

Shaw came to PRCC in July of 2012, while working for the Hattiesburg region of Encore Rehabilitation. 

From 2010-2012, Shaw attended Mississippi College as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer while earning his Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration. At MC he spent most of his time working with the Lady Choctaw Volleyball and Softball teams as well as Football and Basketball. While attending MC he was a contract athletic trainer for Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson where he covered High School athletics at local schools.

Shaw graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. While at USM he worked with the Golden Eagle football team as well as Petal and Sumrall High Schools. Shaw was at Petal for two semesters while covering football, baseball, softball and track.  His final semester at USM, Shaw worked at Sumrall High School while covering baseball, softball and spring football. Also at USM he was the recipient of the school’s Distinguished Student Athletic Trainer Award.

Shaw attended East Central Community College, where he earned his associate’s degree in sports medicine while working with Rush Sports Medicine Certified Athletic Trainers. 

Shaw was rasied in Forrest, Mississippi and is a 2006 graduate of Forest High School. 

In his spare time Shaw is a competitive off-road UTV racer where he competes all over the southeast and has also raced in the Nevada desert. He has had multiple appearances on the podium and has recently earned a manufacturer sponsorship from BRP Motors and Can-Am. Shaw also enjoys anything outdoors from his winter trips hunting to hiking and camping in the mountains.

He has been married to the former Brittany Cushman since June 2011, and they reside in McNeil with their two labs Aysa and Bo.
