No. 3 Pearl River adds to collection of postseason honors

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The awards continue to roll in for the No. 3 Pearl River baseball team as three standouts were named to the All-Region 23 Team.

Among those honored are Memphis signee Landon Gartman (Bogue Chitto; Enterprise), South Alabama signee Tate Parker (Gulfport; West Harrison) and Alabama signee Graham Crawford (Sumrall). 

Gartman was the ace of the Pearl River rotation leading the Wildcats in several categories. His nine wins, 60 innings and 81 strikeouts each led the team. His 1.95 ERA was second on the team and first among starting pitchers. After winning the MACCC Pitcher of the Week four times during the season, Gartman was recently named First-Team All-MACCC and MACCC Pitcher of the Year.

Parker was a threat in the heart of the lineup throughout the season, leading the Wildcats in almost every category. His 59 hits, 18 round-trippers, 13 doubles, 65 RBIs, .381 batting average and .826 slugging percentage were all first on the team. Parker's .471 on-base percentage and 10 stolen bases were second and fourth on the team, respectively. In addition to two MACCC Player of the Week awards, he was named First-Team All-MACCC and MACCC Player of the Year.

Crawford found a home in the two-hole and produced big numbers for Pearl River. His 34 walks and .494 on-base percentage both led the team while his .333 batting average, 49 RBIs, and 15 homers were each second on the team. He finished the year with a caught stealing percentage of .362 Crawford was recently selected as First-Team All-MACCC.
