Pearl River baseball announces 2024 campaign

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The 2024 season is just around the corner, and the Pearl River baseball team is excited to announce a jam-packed schedule featuring 18 home dates at Dub Herring Park.  

NON-CONFERENCE
The Wildcats start the season on Jan. 30 against Coastal Alabama South for one nine-inning game. The contest will serve as the program's sophomore day. 

Pearl River will compete in the Panama City Beach Classic Feb. 2-4, with the first matchup being against Gulf Coast State on Feb 2.

PRCC returns to Dub Herring Park on Feb. 9 to host Baton Rouge for a doubleheader and makes the trip to Baton Rouge two days later on Feb. 11. The Wildcats wrap up their road trip with a Feb. 13 contest at Coastal Alabama – South for a nine-inning game. 

Pearl River has a weekend home series against Murray State College on Feb. 16-18, playing one nine-inning game each day before traveling to Holmes on Feb. 20 to take on Itawamba and the Bulldogs. 

The Wildcats return home the weekend of Feb. 23-25. PRCC Takes on South Arkansas and Parkland College for a pair of Nine Inning games on Feb. 23. Parkland and South Arkansas will square off between games. The following day pits the last two National Champions against each other as PRCC takes on Heartland for one nine-inning game. PRCC wraps up the weekend by hosting Parkland on Feb. 25 for one nine-inning game. 

Pearl River ends the month of Feb. by hosting a pair of rivals. The Wildcats take on Gulf Coast, followed by Jones College. JC and MGCCC will play between the two games. 

The new month begins with a matchup with Illinois Central on March 2. The Wildcats host Southwest on March 5 for the final non-conference competition of the year. 

CONFERENCE ACTION 
Pearl River hits the road to begin MACCC play on March 9, traveling to Booneville to take on Northeast Mississippi. Pearl River returns to Dub Herring Park on March 13 to host Southwest. 

The Wildcats embark on a two-series road trip on March 16 and 19, matching up with Mississippi Delta and Meridian, respectively. 

PRCC will have back-to-back home dates to follow. Itawamba travels to Poplarville on March 23, and Hinds makes the trip on March 26. 

The Wildcats head to Holmes on March 29 and begin the month of April at Copiah-Lincoln on April 2. East Mississippi comes down to Poplarville to take on the Wildcats on April 6 before PRCC heads to Perkinston to take on rival Gulf Coast on April 9. 

PRCC hosts Coahoma on April 13, followed by the reigning MACCC and Region 23 Champion East Central Warriors on April 17.  

PRCC heads to Jones College on April 23 before wrapping up the 2024 regular season on April 27 against Northwest. 

ABOUT THE WILDCATS 
Pearl River is coming off an impressive 45-13 season. The 45 wins make back-to-back seasons hitting the mark for the first time in program history. The 2024 Wildcats will be led by LSU signee Conner Ware (Madison; Germantown) and Mississippi State signee JT Schnoor (Pascagoula; Resurrection) in the starting rotation, as well as reliever and Louisiana Tech signee Blake Gollott (Saucer; D'Iberville) in the bullpen.

Expected to make a big impact with the bat are returners Marshall Phillips (Hattiesburg; Sumrall) and Jonah Katsaboulas (Pearl; Brandon), as well as Southern Miss transfers Creek Robertson (Oxford; Madison Central) and Bryce Fowler (Madison; Germantown), Mississippi State transfer Hollis Porter (Hurley; East Central) and Louisiana Tech transfer Jeff Ince (Brandon; Jackson Prep). 

POSTSEASON 
The Region 23 Play-in Series will take place May 3-5 with the higher seed hosting. The Region 23 Tournament runs May 13-17 and is hosted by the MACCC Champion. The NJCAA DII World Series remains in Enid, Okla., and will run from May 25 through June 1.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at PRCCAthletics.com/Tickets. General admission tickets are $8. Season passes for baseball are $75, or you can purchase a baseball and softball season pass for $100.
