Pearl River’s Landon Gartman named MACCC Pitcher of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference has named Landon Gartman (Bogue Chitto; Enterprise) the Pitcher of the Week. The honor comes after Gartman pitched a shutout against No. 4 Northwest in the Wildcats' 9-0 win over the Rangers last Wednesday.

The award is Gartman's second of the season. Tate Parker (Gulfport; West Harrison) was also named MACCC Player of the Week earlier in the season.

In the No. 7 Wildcats' win, Gartman went seven innings allowing only five hits, two walks and zero runs while striking out seven.

Through four games, Gartman has pitched 18 innings and only allowed six earned runs with 20 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.00.
