No. 2 Pearl River's Alex Perry honored by the MACCC

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Alex Perry (McComb; North Pike) was a machine last week for the No. 2 Pearl River baseball team and his incredible performances have earned him the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week award.

Perry helped lead the Wildcats to a perfect 4-0 week with sweeps over Southwest and Mississippi Delta. It seemed like Perry did damage each time that he stepped to the plate and his slash line reflected it as he held a .583 batting average, .722 on-base percentage and 1.583 slugging percentage for the week. Over the week he hit three homers, one double and one triple to help him tally 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored. The Tennessee signee also walked six times and stole a pair of bases.

At the hot corner, Perry was perfect as he played errorless defense in seven total chances.

Perry is off to another great start in 2023. After being named an NJCAA All-American last year, the sophomore is hitting .391 with six homers, 33 RBIs, 37 runs and 13 stolen bases through 27 games played.
